Building Student Self-Efficacy

Self efficacy refers to an individuals belief in his or her ability to execute behaviors necessary to produce specific performances (Albert Bandura).  In this workshop we explore how we are able, as teachers, to develop our students’ academic self efficacy through an understanding of the five components which make up this psychological construct.  We look at concrete examples of how we as teachers can use this knowledge to strengthen our students belief in themselves and in turn create a positive impact on their learning and self esteem.

“SUCCESS AND FAILURE

ARE LARGELY SELF DEFINED.”

– Albert Bandura
